About Emily Seagren
Twenty years in beauty and direct sales sounds like a straight line on paper. It hasn't been one.
Where it started. I was four years old when I lost my brother to suicide, the first loss that shaped how I understand resilience, long before I knew that's what I was building toward. I share this not for sympathy, but because I think it matters that the woman who later built a multi-million dollar business was carrying real things the entire time, and building anyway.
In 2008, I opened my first Avon Beauty Center in Rockford, Illinois. Growth came in stages, not overnight, a second retail location followed years later, once the first had truly proven itself. I built the organization into a nearly $3 million operation, personally selling over $300K a year and leading a team that grew to 1,300 members nationwide, earning a Top 25 national ranking. In 2014, in the middle of running that business, I had brain surgery. In 2015, I was named Avon's Woman of Enterprise, the youngest woman ever to receive that distinction.
I was also pushing hard into online and social selling years before it became standard in this industry. That wasn't accidental, and it wasn't purely strategic either. I could see where the industry was headed, and I genuinely wanted to draw people to me, to build real connection at scale, not just move product. Both of those things were true at once.
The setback. During COVID, trying to keep my business afloat, I brought in another brand alongside Avon. In one phone call, my revenue, my team, and my livelihood were taken, 13 years, gone in a conversation I didn't control.
What followed was a year of real grieving. Not a metaphor, actual grief, alongside major depression, for a business I'd spent 13 years building with my own hands. I don't rush past that part of the story, because I think the year I spent falling apart is exactly what made the rebuild mean something later.
The in-between. Eventually, I moved into a traditional marketing role, leading strategy and brand growth for a regional recruiting firm. It was steady, and I'm grateful for that season, but I missed this work, the honest conversations about aging and beauty, the specific kind of connection that comes from helping a woman feel good in her own skin. I felt boxed in the whole time I was there, even while I was good at the job.
The comeback. In May 2024, I partnered with Beauty Society. In July 2025, Celesty. I'm building again, teams across the US, Puerto Rico, and Canada, from the ground back up. And this time, it's moving faster than my Avon business ever did, not because it's easier, but because of what 13 years taught me about marketing, leadership, recruiting, and how to actually run a business, lessons I didn't have the first time around.
My Family
Rob, Josh, and Ava are my priority, always, before any title, any rank, any launch. If the two things ever came into real conflict, the choice is not in question.
My Mission
I help women 40+ reclaim their confidence, in their skin, their routines, and their lives, and I teach them the marketing and business skills to build something of their own while they do it.
Through content, education, and a community of 50,000+ across platforms, I teach skincare and beauty that actually works after 40, routines built for real life instead of Instagram life, how to rebuild self-trust so confidence stops depending on trends, filters, or anyone else's opinion, and the real, practical marketing and business skills behind building something that lasts.
Where I'm Headed
I'm currently part of Women in Power, a docu-series hosted by Rudy Mawer, talking openly about resilience, reinvention, and what it actually takes to rebuild an identity after loss, including why mental health awareness belongs inside leadership conversations, not outside of them.
I partner with select brands that align with that same standard, and I mentor women who are ready for both glow and growth. If you're done with hustle culture and ready to build with more alignment and less burnout, I'd love to talk. No pitch, just a real conversation about doing this differently.
In 2026, I was named one of the Most Influential Women in Beauty and Cosmetics.
Based in Rockford, IL. Building nationwide.
